Formation and Early Success

In Copenhagen, Denmark, David Boyd and Søren Hansen founded New Politics, a Danish rock band.

Before forming the band, Boyd and Hansen worked on their own solo albums for three years.

    In 2009, the duo entered Danish National Radio's "Career Cannon" competition with the songs "Stress" and "Money." Out of 973 submissions, New Politics was among the 42 selected for rotation despite not being an official band yet.

    They then recruited Paul Amaliel as their drummer.
